If, in its broadest definition, ‘networked technology’ includes buttons and zippers, hammers and saws, what then, could be envisioned as a ‘smart device’? Device is a performance piece that reimagines an expanded field of human-computer interaction that situates the body as a critical component in network communication alongside traditional exercise equipment, that, in concert, can communicate with a multitude of other networks: from microwaves, to dolphin pods and urban lighting.
